Firm History
Since 1992, we have represented insureds of many liability carriers, as well as self-insuring businesses and entities. The founding partners - Phil DeCicco, Joe Gibbons and Dan McNamara - created the firm to represent persons and companies involved in litigation. The founding partners are now retired, leaving Bill Fitzgerald as the principal of the firm. We specialize in the aggressive defense of liability claims, from pleadings through trial and appeal.
Principal - William A. Fitzgerald, Esq.
William A. Fitzgerald is a trial lawyer who specializes in insurance-defense litigation arising from all types of tort claims: motor vehicle; premises liability; construction accidents; and municipal liability. For the past 37 years, Bill has litigated all aspects of these claims from pleadings through trial – and, if necessary, through appeal. Bill has tried more than 50 cases to verdict in all New York venues of both State and Federal Court.
Bill earned his Juris Doctor degree from The University of Connecticut School of Law in 1983. The following year, he earned a Master’s Degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. As a former journalist, Bill excels in matters that require powerful legal writing, such as the preparation of motions, memoranda of law and appellate briefs. Although Bill is currently in private practice, serving as panel counsel for both liability carriers and self-insured entities, his experience also includes 10 years of employment with staff counsel for liability insurers. As such, Bill is sensitive to the needs of claims managers who are defending liability claims against their insureds.
